Designed for working professionals, our online RN to BSN degree curriculum trains you in a host of areas required for the modern nurse, such as pharmacology, patient and family centered care, community-based nursing, global health, nursing informatics, and more. Designed to fit around the needs of working nurses, the online RN to BSN program is offered fully online in an accelerated format. Our clinicals begin a full year earlier than most other programs, giving you more time to gain competence and confidence in your newly acquired skills. With accelerated seven-week classes, you can graduate the program in as little as one year.

Accreditation

The online RN to BSN program is fully accredited through the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). Bethel University is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission to grant bachelor’s and master’s degrees. The Higher Learning Commission is one of six regional accrediting agencies in the United States. Institutional accreditation evaluates an entire institution and accredits it as a whole.

Course Requirements

Bethel’s online RN to BSN program combines quality academics with Christian ethics and a pastoral tone. The program requires a total of 120 credit hours. 91 of these hours must consist of General Education and Elective courses, while the other 29 must be in Nursing courses.

  • General Education (41 Credits)

    General education courses offer an introduction to the arts and sciences within a college setting. Through this comprehensive course of study, students will gain appreciation for a broad range of subjects and build the skills necessary to succeed in higher education. 41 credit hours are required of general education courses.

  • General Electives (14 Credits)

    Electives allow students to dive deeper into a wide range of subjects, and provide the opportunity to tailor a course of study based on interests and academic goals. Students are required to earn 14 credit hours of electives.

    • Students may transfer credit from other accredited institutions, providing the courses are equivalent to the required Bethel courses and a grade of “C” or better has been earned.
    • CLEP testing is available for select courses.
  • Lower Level Nursing Courses (36 Credits)

    Lower level nursing courses are those students have already acquired from previous diploma or ADN programs, or ones they need to finish in order to complete our BSN. Students are required to have 36 credit hours of lower-level nursing credit.

    *Up to 36 nursing credits will be transferred in from the student’s diploma or associate program.
    **Students may receive credit for certification from a national organization including specialty nursing certifications, ACLS, PALS, etc.

Admission Requirements

Undergraduate programs require:
  • Submit your official transcripts (directly from the institution to Bethel) from all undergraduate work. If you have completed less than 30 credit hours, also submit your official high school or GED transcript
  • Minimum 2.0 GPA
  • Show proficiency by either submitting your official SAT or ACT scores, completing a college-level English or math course or taking Bethel’s placement tests

**Fees are charged per semester unless otherwise noted. This program takes an estimated three to ten semesters to complete, depending on transfer credits.

Payment Plan

The college has a monthly installment plan available through Nelnet Campus Commerce. Enrollment can be completed online by accessing the student billing link through MyBethel or by calling 800.609.8056. Students will be charged an enrollment fee of $40.
